Tell the truth

GodSparx runs on one kind of fuel: true stories. Your story doesn't need a miracle ending or beautiful sentences. It needs to be what actually happened to you. The messy middle counts. "I'm still waiting" counts. The night that almost broke you counts. What doesn't belong here is invention — a story stretched past recognition, borrowed from someone else, or written by a machine and signed with your name. One real, ordinary story is worth more than a hundred impressive fictions, because someone out there needs to know it really happened to a real person.

Protect the people in your story

Almost no testimony has just one person in it. There's the parent who hurt you, the friend who left, the spouse who came back. Those people didn't sign up to be in your story — so handle them gently:

• Change names and identifying details of anyone who hasn't said "yes, tell it."
• Tell your part of the story, not theirs. You can say what happened to you without putting someone else's private life on the internet.
• Photos need permission from the people in them — and a parent's permission for kids, even your own if the story is sensitive.
• Ask yourself: if this person read this tomorrow, would they feel exposed or honored? Write toward honored.

Encourage — don't fix

When someone shares something raw, the temptation is to fix it: give advice, quote the perfect verse, explain what they should have done. Resist. Most people sharing a hard thing don't need a solution; they need a witness.

• Say "I'm praying for you" — and then actually do it.
• "Me too" is one of the most powerful comments on this platform.
• Never tell someone to stop treatment, leave a doctor, or make a big life decision based on your experience. Stories inspire; they don't prescribe.
• If someone's spark scares you — if it sounds like they might hurt themselves — report it right away so we can reach out with real resources. That's not tattling; that's love with follow-through.

Comments are moderated (and nudged toward kindness)

Every comment passes through human moderation, the same as stories. If a comment is harsh, preachy in a wounding way, or piles on, it won't be published — and where it seems like a misfire rather than malice, we may reply privately and invite you to try again. We're not looking for perfect words. We're looking for kind ones.

No public counts, on purpose

You won't find like counts, follower tallies, or trending leaderboards here. That's deliberate. The moment stories compete for numbers, people start telling the stories that perform instead of the stories that are true. A testimony read by one person who needed it has done its whole job. You'll never have to watch your hardest moment lose a popularity contest.

Reporting and blocking

Two tools keep you safe here, and both are simple:

• Report: every story, spark, and comment has a report option. Use it for anything that violates our Content Policy — or anything that just feels wrong. You don't need to be certain; that's our job.
• Block: blocking someone means they can no longer follow you, comment on your posts, or appear in your experience of the platform. You never need a reason, and they aren't notified.

What happens when you report

1. A real human on our team reads your report — every single one, usually within a day or two.
2. We look at the content and its context, against the Content Policy.
3. We act: sometimes an editor's note, sometimes removal, sometimes a conversation with the person, sometimes a check-in with someone who may be in crisis. Sometimes the content is fine and stays — we'll have looked either way.
4. Your report stays confidential. The person reported never learns who reported them.

Our promise to storytellers

Sharing a testimony is an act of trust. Here's what we promise in return:

• Your story stays yours. We will never sell it, never put it in an ad, never hand it to another publication without asking you first, in writing.
• A human reads everything before it's published — no algorithm decides what happens to your story.
• Delete means delete. If you remove your story or your account, it's permanently gone, photos and all.
• You control your identity. Full name, first name, or pseudonym — your call, honored without question.
• If we ever say no to a story, we'll say it kindly and tell you why — and you can always appeal.
• We'll treat your hardest chapters with care — content screens, crisis resources, and a team that reaches out when a story suggests you're in danger.
